Okay. This has been done many times, I'm sure. Surprise + Pinkie = Long-Lost Sisters. But it was the first one I could come up with on short notice. Let's go over the basics.
-This is for Newbie Artist Training Grounds. Here's a [link] if you want. I'm trying Second Tier: draw a pony meeting a long-lost relative. Check.
-Trixie's there! Yeah, couldn't give up an opportunity to draw Best Pony Evar now, could I? I rationalized by supposing that, after her stay as worker with the Pies between her episodes, she is now considered honorary family member!
-Soarin is there too! I don't even know. Maybe he's Surprise's sister?
-Markers. Markers, markers, markers. First encounter, and all I have to say is, Markers? I love you, but please, go die. In a hole. Slowly.
-Backgrounds are new experiences for me. I hate this one, but it's...okay I guess? I love the silo/mill/house, I like the clouds (though I think they detract from the subjects of the piece, Pinkie and Surprise) and I loathe the rocks in the way back. Fun fact: At first only one looked crappy, and one looked decent, because I used different methods, but I thought the variety looked too weird so I made them both bad. Why did I do that. WHyy.
-Pinkie is BRIGHT here. I only have two shades of pink markers: dark...and darker. I managed to fit in some maroon for further shading, but she's so dark!
-This whole thing is SUPPOSED to be bigger, but the scanner I was working with was a hair too small. It's supposed to have a sketchy white border around all of it, instead of just the bottom and right sides. I'll scan it better soon.
I think that's really it! Next time I won't start at dinnertime, I promise.
Thanks! That was what I was going for. Unfortunately, the background looks a bit hurried because I had to take care of all the details, but I'm glad I pulled it off!
